Monica & Ben Arlington's Wedding

I first met Monica and Ben the day before their wedding. No joke. Ok I’m fooling you slightly…I first met Monica and Ben *in person* the day before their wedding. :D They live in Wisconsin and are both med students. As you can assume, planning a wedding from Wisconsin that will take place in Springfield, IL, WHILE doing med school is not the easiest thing ever. We did all our meetings virtually and even the site visits I held them in my palm as I walked through. Thank goodness for technology! Finding time to come home in the midst of med school just wasn’t possible!

The thing that shocked me the most (in a good way) was how much Monica made for the wedding. All the centerpieces were made by Monica with silk flowers. Unbelievable! I can’t imagine the blood, sweat, tears, and not to mention time that went into everything. Monica juggled her life so well I have several lessons to learn from her!

One of my favorite parts of the entire wedding day was looking up at one point during the reception to see Ben slow dancing with Monica’s grandma. I immediately found Ben’s mom and pointed this out to her. Very cool to see a groom on his wedding day take time to stop and slow dance with his new wife’s grandma.

I have the honor of coordinating Ben’s sister’s wedding coming up Fall 2021 and I can’t wait to work with this family again and to also see Monica and Ben! They truly are some of the greatest humans and I’m lucky to have the privilege to play a small role in their wedding days!
