When Amy first contacted me she was panicked that her NYE 2020 wedding was going to be canceled due to COVID. Unfortunately, as the story goes for most brides this year, it was. She ended up deciding to keep her wedding for 2020 and luckily found Sleepy Creek to have an opening still this Fall. When we met she told me she really didn’t even want to get married anymore because anytime she thought about her wedding she just wanted to cry. If that doesn’t break your heart!! From then on I made it my mission for Amy to have FUN planning her wedding and also have her DREAM day this Fall.
I’ll have you know the smile on Amy’s face all evening was genuine! She didn’t get her NYE wedding but she did get her dream wedding still. Their day turned out absolutely gorgeous- not only was the weather high 70s and sunny but the venue was COVERED in flowers. I’m serious- I don’t think I’ve seen more flowers than this. It was stunning!
One of the best parts was Josh’s (the groom) dad officiated the wedding. His love for Josh and Amy was so evident and it was such a special moment. I absolutely love when couples have such personal touches such as this incorporated into their big day.
My clients’ event days (ESPECIALLY wedding days) are never about me at all but I will say I couldn’t have been more happy to see Amy, Josh, and their families having the best day ever. After so much heartbreak and re-planning I can confidently say this day turned out better than they ever expected.
Kim Rueck NAILED all the flowers for this wedding. Amy and Josh were married right outside the Sleepy Creek venue at Sleepy Creek’s ceremony location affectionately referred to as the “Hitch N Shack.” Check out this beauty! Kim made Amy’s vision come to life perfectly with drapes, a candelabra, and of course fresh flowers!
