Lena & Garrett Mahomet Backyard Wedding

As Ryan Reid with Crash Events put it, “This gives backyard weddings a whole new meaning.” And right he was. Lena and Garrett put up a tent that literally fit perfectly in their backyard- with only a little room to spare between the tent and fence on all four sides. And it was STUNNING! Pictures to come!

Once again, after COVID ruined this bride’s dream wedding she decided to switch up her plans and host the party in her own backyard. Lena lives in the middle of a subdivision in Mahomet, IL. I wish my spatial awareness was better because when I went for a site visit and saw her backyard, my first thought was, “How is this all going to fit?!” And that’s why I rely on my fellow professionals in their industry (aka the rental companies) because it all fit perfectly. It was AWESOME to see her vision come to life in this beautiful backyard wedding.

One of the coolest parts about the entire day was the Matron and Maid of Honors’ speech. They were both Lena’s sisters and they created a song about Lena and Garrett’s relationship to the tune of “Summer Nights” from the musical Grease. My favorite part about weddings now-a-days is that anything and everything can be customized and personal- including toasts!

The bride and groom also did this really cool thing where the DJ played one song and during that one song, they ran around to each table and got a picture taken with them. Lena’s sister had done this at her own wedding and Lena loved the idea; honestly I do too!
