Laura Edwards, the founder of Cultivate Illinois, approached me and asked if 618 EVENTS would be willing to sponsor the Sunday brunch portion of the Cultivate Illinois women’s conference taking place at Allerton Mansion in February. She really wanted this brunch to be very fancy (hence the name) but didn’t have the time or energy to make that happen. If you know me, you know I struggle with creativity but I saw this as a challenge and accepted the opportunity!
I immediately started brainstorming on how to make this brunch a “Very Fancy Brunch” and came up with a photo opportunity, live music (that ALWAYS elevates a party), charcuterie of some sort, and my personal favorite…COFFEE FLIGHTS! I am not a huge beer drinker so whenever I can order a flight I am all about that. I enjoy tasting a bit of several different kinds. I wanted to bring this to a brunch setting but instead of beer, with coffee! I had never seen this done before but figured we could make it happen.
Blue Dragonfly was immediately on board for brunch charcuterie and coffee flights. Woo hoo! Get yourself a vendor team that says yes to your dreams!
Overall the event was a huge success with many lessons learned along the way. I would say it was definitely a “Very Fancy Brunch” and I’m already brainstorming for next year’s event and how to make it even better!
